Unused Graphics
Various unused graphics can be found in DATA/FILEDATA.BIN on the game disc.
Help text from Edit Mode indicating the PS2 HDD could have been used to store edit data.
Unused Konami Original CD Title (these images are used on the music select screen and in DDR Extreme they spin around). In DDR Extreme, all Konami Original songs have their respective Mix's CD Title image when you highlight the song rather than like in previous mixes where Konami Original or Konami Original Remix was used so this image was surplus.
Unused Dance Mania CD Title (these images are used on the music select screen and in DDR Extreme they spin around). In DDR Extreme, all songs have their respective Mix's CD Title image when you highlight the song rather than like in previous mixes where Dance Mania or the Dance Mania version icon was used so this image was surplus.
Learner song wheel graphic, a similar graphic was used in DDR 5thMix but was not used in DDR Extreme. It was used in DDR 5thMix to denote that the BASIC/LIGHT steps were two (2) footers or under in difficulty.
Arcade machine saved Edit Chart slots graphic that normally in the arcade is shown above the songs banner. If the arcade cabinet had PS1 memory card slots, the arcade owners could choose to save up to two edits per song onto the cabinets flash memory. This system was never implemented in the console versions as you could have many more edits and access them all from the music select screen.
Unused memory card icons that were used in the Dance Dance Revolution Arcade machines but were not featured in the Console versions.
This icon is a strange holdover from the Arcade versions of DDR. It is used in the arcade versions to show that the Joint Premium setting is active. It appears to be just part of the graphic that was used in the DDR Extreme Arcade version and was kept to keep the graphic the correct size for the code.
These two images are from the DDR Extreme arcade version, it was used for a screen showing which unlocks were unlocked on the machine. There are far more than 30 unlocks in the console version. The first image shows the background for the unlock screen and the second image shows the numbers and icons that were used on this screen. In the arcade this screen was shown during the demo loop.
An unused step judgment graphic relating to freeze arrows.
Below is a table showing unused Banners and Text Titles for what we can assume was going to be Diet Mode courses.
Left over song banner/titles, these have carried over from DDRMAX2: Dance Dance Revolution 7thMix. These graphics are also found in the c/s previews for DDRMAX US, DDRMAX2 US, and DDRMAX2: Dance Dance Revolution 7thMix
An unused banner dummy graphic, whose purpose is unknown.
